Our Story

Almost 35 years ago our founder Sheny Graham opened her first 2-bed assisted living facility in her own home in Long Island, New York. There she used her years of caregiving experience to provide a loving home for elderly clients, as she simultaneously raised her own kids in this same home. A couple of years later, she was able to buy a facility in Jacksonville, Florida, and the rest is history. She worked very hard over the years, placing a high priority on loving and caring for her residents in a very special way. Her children spent many early mornings and late evenings at the facility with Sheny. They were able to observe firsthand Sheny's special way of caring for the elderly.

In 2012, her children, Alexandra Carpenter and Danny Cano, stepped into the family business to help continue to grow on the foundation laid by their mom, Sheny. In 2017, Sheny's son Marc "CM" Graham also joined the family business.

Together this family has helped the business double in size since 2014 both in the number of residents and number of staff employed. Alexandra is a Registered Nurse who works hands on at Fort Caroline Gardens as the Director of Nursing. Danny is the Director of Operations. CM is the Facilities Director of both Her Heart Gardens and Autumn Village. Sheny continues to have a strong passion and energy for providing exceptional care, working many hours ensuring that her children and staff continue on her legacy and "Her Heart" of treating clients like family.
